Ten Fallacies
1. Avoid argument to the person.
I believe those people who are against abortion are moraly wright.
2. Avoid circular Reasoning.
Speed limits are wrong because cops should not be allowed to tell people how fast to travel on any road.
3. Avoid hasty generalizations.
It’s not safe to chew gum, walking backward, because some people might fall.
4. Avoid false cause arguments.
It is hard to wear hells, cause I fall down a lot. Clearly, when I wear hells I fall down.
5. Avoid either/or arguments.
If you choose to not got to class today you will have to meet with the teacher tomorrow.
6. Avoid red herrings.
Yes I was late for class, But the teacher was singling me out in the questions of the day activity.
7. Avoid slippery slopes.
If one person turns their homework in late, everybody will want to turn their homework in late.
8. Avoid false analogies.
If our teacher does not come to class and take controll of the discution we will not be able to stay on task.
9. Avoid non sequitur.
I was a good cheerleader because as a baby I always loved to scream.
10. Avoid bandwagon appeal.
Everybody should use proactive because it worked so good for Jessica Simpson, and she is very beautiful.
