Dear Senator,
The greatest gifts in life are our children. We as a society should protect our future as we protect our children. A mother should be held responsible for the wellbeing of their unborn children. Society needs to make mothers responsible for their actions while they are pregnant and the actions they take while their children grow.
Action needs to be taken to protect life’s true miracles. A child doesn’t choose to come into the world. A child doesn’t get to choose the most important people in their life’s. Their family. A beautiful gift from god should be valued above all else. A baby is a true miracle and you can’t look at it as something that happens every day. Each baby is amazing in their own way and all children should be given the same opportunities from even before they are born. If a mother chooses not to provide the best living environment while a baby if growing in the mothers uterus then authorities so be able to step in and punish the mother.
Smoking and drinking while caring an unborn child should be against the law. If the mother is not held responsible for the actions they take toward their baby’s health, than who should be held responsible. A mother who chooses to smoke or drink while pregnant is putting their baby at risk for future health problems that can be fatale. In the world we face many obstacles and a baby who was introduced to tobacco and alcohol while in the uterus is starting their life with many more obstacles that could have been so very easily avoidable.
Drinking while pregnant is the number one cause of birth defects. Fetal alcohol syndrome is one hundred percent preventable. Children born with fetal alcohol syndrome will most likely face a lifetime of medical complications all because their mother choose to be selfish and not put their unborn child first. An unborn child has no say in the chooses their mother make therefore society should be able to protect and look out for the baby’s best interest.
As a society we need to protect our miracles. A mother should be held responsible for their young child and the young child’s health. If children had a voice and knew better don’t you think they would ask their mom not to drink and smoke. We must be the voice for the children and unborn baby’s. Smoking and drinking is a choose that any person has but a baby doesn’t have a choose so we as a society need to make the right choose for our future --our children Society needs to make mothers responsible for their actions while they are pregnant and the actions they take while their children grow.
