Dear Senator,
The greatest gifts in life are our children. We, as a society, should protect our future, as we protect our children. A mother should be held responsible for the well-being of their unborn children. Children are gifts that need to be protected, and sometimes mothers do things that are harmful to their unborn children, therefore society should be able to take action against these mothers.
The choices that mothers make while they are pregnant affect the well-being of their child. A child doesn’t choose to come into this world. A child doesn’t get to choose the most important people in their lives; their family. A beautiful gift from god should be valued above all else. A baby is a true miracle and you can’t look at it as something that happens every day. Each baby is amazing in their own way and all children should be given the same opportunities. Unborn children need a mother who will provide them with a healthy living environment, such as eating healthy and avoiding smoking and drinking.
If a mother chooses not to provide the best living environment while a baby is growing in the mothers uterus, then authorities should be able to step in and punish the mother. Drinking while pregnant is the number one cause of birth defects. Fetal alcohol syndrome is one hundred percent preventable. Children born with fetal alcohol syndrome will most likely face a lifetime of medical complications all because their mother choose
to be selfish and not put their unborn child first. An unborn child has no say in the choices their mother make, therefore society should be able to protect and look out for the baby’s best interest. Smoking and drinking while carrying an unborn child should be against the law. Smoking while pregnant can cause the unborn child to be born with underdeveloped lungs, chronic breathing problems, and the child may never be able to run in P.E. class with all the other children. Smoking and drinking while pregnant is a series risk toward a baby’s health.
If the mother is not held responsible for the actions they take toward their baby’s health, than who should be held responsible? A mother who chooses to smoke or drink while pregnant is putting their baby at risk for future health problems that can be fatal. In the world we face many obstacles and a baby who was introduced to tobacco and alcohol while in the uterus is starting their life with many more obstacles, although they could have been so very easily avoidable. A mother who chooses to smoke and drink while pregnant should be required to take parenting classes. If the mother is caught more than once smoking or drinking they should receive jail time so they can be monitored. While in jail they would not be able to smoke or drink. I think a law should be passed to protect the well-being of our children.
Children are our miracles that need to be protected, and when mothers do things that are harmful to their unborn children, society should then be able to take action against these mothers. As a society, we need to protect our miracles. Mothers should be held responsible for their young child and the young child’s health. If children had a voice and knew better, don’t you think they would ask their mother not to smoke or drink. We
must be the voice of the children. If we take action to protect the children, altogether we can provide children with unlimited opportunity for success. I want to thank you for taking the time to ready my point of view on this topic, that is very important to me.

Dear Senator,
The greatest gifts in life are our children. We as a society should protect our future as we protect our children. A mother should be held responsible for the wellbeing of their unborn children. Society needs to make mothers responsible for their actions while they are pregnant and the actions they take while their children grow.
Action needs to be taken to protect life’s true miracles. A child doesn’t choose to come into the world. A child doesn’t get to choose the most important people in their life’s. Their family. A beautiful gift from god should be valued above all else. A baby is a true miracle and you can’t look at it as something that happens every day. Each baby is amazing in their own way and all children should be given the same opportunities from even before they are born. If a mother chooses not to provide the best living environment while a baby if growing in the mothers uterus then authorities so be able to step in and punish the mother.
Smoking and drinking while caring an unborn child should be against the law. If the mother is not held responsible for the actions they take toward their baby’s health, than who should be held responsible. A mother who chooses to smoke or drink while pregnant is putting their baby at risk for future health problems that can be fatale. In the world we face many obstacles and a baby who was introduced to tobacco and alcohol while in the uterus is starting their life with many more obstacles that could have been so very easily avoidable.
Drinking while pregnant is the number one cause of birth defects. Fetal alcohol syndrome is one hundred percent preventable. Children born with fetal alcohol syndrome will most likely face a lifetime of medical complications all because their mother choose to be selfish and not put their unborn child first. An unborn child has no say in the chooses their mother make therefore society should be able to protect and look out for the baby’s best interest.
As a society we need to protect our miracles. A mother should be held responsible for their young child and the young child’s health. If children had a voice and knew better don’t you think they would ask their mom not to drink and smoke. We must be the voice for the children and unborn baby’s. Smoking and drinking is a choose that any person has but a baby doesn’t have a choose so we as a society need to make the right choose for our future --our children Society needs to make mothers responsible for their actions while they are pregnant and the actions they take while their children grow.

Ten Fallacies
1. Avoid argument to the person.
I believe those people who are against abortion are moraly wright.
2. Avoid circular Reasoning.
Speed limits are wrong because cops should not be allowed to tell people how fast to travel on any road.
3. Avoid hasty generalizations.
It’s not safe to chew gum, walking backward, because some people might fall.
4. Avoid false cause arguments.
It is hard to wear hells, cause I fall down a lot. Clearly, when I wear hells I fall down.
5. Avoid either/or arguments.
If you choose to not got to class today you will have to meet with the teacher tomorrow.
6. Avoid red herrings.
Yes I was late for class, But the teacher was singling me out in the questions of the day activity.

7. Avoid slippery slopes.
If one person turns their homework in late, everybody will want to turn their homework in late.
8. Avoid false analogies.
If our teacher does not come to class and take controll of the discution we will not be able to stay on task.
9. Avoid non sequitur.
I was a good cheerleader because as a baby I always loved to scream.
10. Avoid bandwagon appeal.
Everybody should use proactive because it worked so good for Jessica Simpson, and she is very beautiful.

Logical Fallacy Exercise

Logical Fallacy Exercise
1. If the professor allows one student to turn in a late paper without a penalty, other students will want to turn in late papers without a penalty, and soon everybody in the class will be turning in late papers.
Slippery Slope
2. In order to maintain our military supremacy, we must either substantially increase the number of volunteers willing to serve in the military or we must reinstate the draft.
Either or
3. While it is true that our policies in Iraq are opposed by the majority of the world’s governments, those governments are merely envious of our power and influence.
Argument to the Person
4. The candidate would be an excellent president—after all, he was a successful governor of the second-largest state in the union.
False Analogy
5. Lewis-Clark State College must be the least respected institution of higher learning in the State of Idaho. It’s student fees are the lowest, it has the least number of full-time students, and the Idaho legislature consistently allocates it
less money per capita than the other schools.
Non Sequitur
6. Two kinds of students enroll in English 102: those with a genuine interest in writing and research and those with almost no interest in writing and research.
Either or
7. Everyone who attends English 102 is interested in improving writing and research skills.
Circular Reasoning
8. My wife walks at least four miles each morning before work. She has lost fifteen pounds in the last three weeks. If she continues this regimen of exercise and continues to lose weight at the same rate as she has recently done, she will lose an additional twenty pounds in four weeks.
False Cause
9. Abortion is wrong because a person does not have the power to end the life of a fetus.
Circular Reasoning
10. In the years since Idaho raised the speed limit to 75 miles per hour on the interstate, the annual number of traffic fatalities in Idaho has doubled. The new speed limit is causing unnecessary fatalities.
False Cause
11. While I agree that I have received a few D’s and F’s on important exams, I’ve worked hard and turned in every assignment . Besides, I have perfect attendance,
and I’ve received A’s and B’s on other assignments. The teacher just doesn’t like me or I’d have a better final grade.
Argument to the Person
12. Five witnesses have testified that Julia Smith was the last person seen leaving the office before the office was robbed. Julia has the only key. Julia is the thief.
Hasty generalization
13. Raising the tax on gasoline to increase money for education is a good idea and those people opposing it are more concerned with driving their ATVs, pickup trucks, and cars than keeping the costs of education reasonable and affordable for students.
False Cause
14. Almost everyone values life, and consequently we should all oppose a woman’s right to terminate a pregnancy.
Bandwagon
15. The teacher can’t be very good if he continually strays from the subject and avoids answering direct questions.
Hasty Generalization
